Code of Conduct

Students invited to sing with the Young Voices Children's Choir will be held to high standards of conduct during any function representing the choir. Students will be expected to follow directions; be able to sit quietly; and refrain from any form of verbal disrespect toward each other, the Director, or other adults. Students must be willing to learn as much as possible about singing and behaving in an ensemble. Disrespectful speech or behavior will not be tolerated and may be cause for removal from the choir.

Attendance

Prompt and regular attendance at all rehearsals and performances is required. Absences will be excused only for sickness; a death in the family, or a school-sanctioned music performance. Two or more unexcused absences from rehearsals may be cause for a singer to not participate in the concert, be removed from the choir, or may be cause for denial of inclusion in the group the following semester. Plan to arrive at rehearsals 10-15 minutes before the scheduled start time. Do not disturb any rehearsal already in progress; however, take care of going to the bathroom, getting your folder and music ready, attendance, etc. before rehearsal begins.
